Help New Orleans
Since shortly after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Building Better Communities (BBC) has been scheduling teams to come to the New Orleans area to assist residents in the rebuilding efforts. Due to the lack of housing, this has presented challenges to our staff
We have set up a "hub" in East New Orleans to house our teams and for the use of our warehousing needs. We have a lease with Faith Church which is located in East New Orleans---a completely devastated area. This church was flooded 6-8 feet and is not fully operational at this time. We have had volunteer teams come in and help gut and clean the classrooms and gymnasium on the property. Once completed, this facility will have the capacity to house/feed up to 275 volunteers a week.
There are many, many residents that need your help! If you are interested in sending a team, please click here to send an email to Building Better Communities with the following information: Contact Person Name, Organization Name, email address, telephone number, the dates you want to bring your team, and the number of volunteers in your team. We will then have our Team Greeter contact you with further details.
