Reaching Out
Community Connection
Community Connection is an innovative component of BBC’s vision to help rebuild hope one person at a time. We focus on families trying to cope during difficult circumstances and who are facing many challenges and obstacles while trying to achieve the quality of life they desire. Our aim is to bridge the communication gap between community, organizations, and government by providing resources, information, networking and supportive services.
Children’s Enrichment Programs
This program exists to provide children a safe place to be after school with caring, responsible adults and engaging activities that connect each child to his/her school, family and community. Our mission is to provide a safe, supervised, after school education, enrichment, and recreation program for elementary school children ages 5-12
The Counseling Center
The center provides specialized comprehensive mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in the New Orleans area through a sliding fee scale. Highly trained Counseling Center professionals are prepared to help people manage a wide range of real life issues by creatively working with our clients to successively provide effective and individualized treatment.
Dress for Success
This program is designed to help low-income women make tailored transitions into the worthwhile jobs for which they can be fairly compensated. Through this program, women receive a personal consultation to boost self-confidence and important interviewing and job-hunting skills. Each client will receive a complete professional outfit for the interview and a second suit for her first day on the job.
Neighborhood services
Along with the other services we provide, we also take the time to listen and respond. We can help in your home rebuilding by pointing you in the right direction for materials, contractors, and where possible – volunteers.
Matthew’s Place
Matthew's Place is a beautiful community coffee house where people can come and relax, use the internet, and get to know us and one another. It is a place that can be used by the community for small events such as retirement parties, wedding rehearsal dinners, etc. The room can seat and serve up to 40 adults and has a small stage and professional video and sound system.
